The Passion for More

Blessed are they that do hunger and thirst for righteousness they shall be filled (Matthew 5:6)
One could say blessed are those who hunger for righteousness in the nation, in the city shall be happy still.
What happens when a man has a RIGHTEOUS PASSION a passion for more justice a passion for more of God, a passion for Christ!
Without fire the passion dims low, the candle flicks instead of being ablaze, is hidden under a bushel rather than be light on a hilltop to all below. passion is the fuel of the light and indeed it could be said that when a man lacks fuel for the journey then who is i that will shine as that light on a hill.

It was on a mountainside that JESUS taught us the beattitudes and part of this account was ‘Blessed are the meek: for they shall inherit the earth.. Now meekness has everything to do with fire for meekness is not being loose or being casual about ones ministry. being week is not so humble that we leave the big tasks to others, no meekness is talking your personal assignment in a righteous order and getting the work done that’s meekness. It’s submission to God however big or challenging the mission is. They shall inherit the earth!

As a man climbs lower in meekness so he rises higher in Passion. he goes from owning nothing to possessing a city and that’s the reason why as a light he cannot hide. see its righteousness we aim for. and the righteous are as bold as a lion. a man needs this spirt of righteousness to on a city in the spirit. GOD gave Joshua cities. what cities do you own?

Barnes commentary on Matt 5 is worth noting: ”We learn here: 1. that religion, if it exists, cannot be concealed. 2. that where it is not manifest in the life, it does not exist. 3. that “professors” of religion, who live like other people, give evidence that they have never been truly converted. 4. that to attempt to conceal or hide our Christian knowledge or experience is to betray our trust, injure the cause of piety, and to render our lives useless. And, 5. that good actions will be seen, and will lead people to honour God. If we have no other way of doing good – if we are poor, and unlearned, and unknown yet we may do good by our lives. No sincere and humble Christian lives in vain. The feeblest light at midnight is of use. “How far the little candle throws his beams! So shines a good deed in a naughty world!” Albert Barnes).
